Along the way, we get to meet many people with different types of disabilities and backgrounds and to Dewey they are all the same. He didn't see the differences between them and people without disabilities or different backgrounds. We learn that you can make a difference just by being yourself. Dewey teaches that we are all special and important. He shows us how to be sensitive and sympathetic to others in their time of need.
